2FA

To help keep your K2 University account secure, we offer Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) as an added layer of protection. You can also sign in using secure Single Sign-On (SSO) options such as Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Yahoo, which may include their own security or 2FA settings.

Two Factor Authentication

If you sign in using Single Sign-On (Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, or Yahoo), authentication is managed through your provider’s own security settings.

How do I setup 2FA?

Simply follow these steps to setup 2FA on your account:

  1. Upon logging in, you will be prompted to establish two-factor authentication. Enter your email address.
  2. Click ‘Activate 2FA Now’
  3. Choose an authenticator app:
    Salesforce Authenticator
    Google Authenticator
    Microsoft Authenticator
  4. Following on-screen directions, you will need to open your chosen app.
  5. Navigate to the menu, select ‘Setup Account,’ and scan the displayed barcode.
  6. Upon scanning, the authenticator app will generate a 6 digit verification code.
  7. This code should be entered back on the website, followed by clicking ‘Verify and Save.’

What are Platform Single Sign On (SSO) Options?

The K2U Platform Login options are as follows the following Single Sign On (SSO) Options:

Google
LinkedIn
Microsoft
Yahoo

All Single Sign On (SSO) options do not require K2 University 2FA. SSO may have its own 2FA and/or security policies which are outside our control.

There is no requirement to link/unlink existing accounts for SSO. As long as your existing K2U Account email address is the same as your SSO Service, it will log you into an existing account. You can also revert back to username + password + 2FA in the future you choose to.

Can 2FA be disabled or removed?

No, 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) cannot be disabled on our platform or removed from your accounts. This is a security measure that helps protect your account and data. Here are a few key reasons why 2FA is mandatory:

  1. Enhanced Security: 2FA adds an extra layer of protection to your account, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access. This ensures that even if someone obtains your password, they would still need a second form of verification to access your account.
  2. Compliance with Global Standards: The use of 2FA helps us comply with security and compliance requirements around the world for both B2C (Business-to-Consumer) and B2B (Business-to-Business) services. Many cloud-based services have adopted similar measures, so it’s an industry-standard practice.
  3. Salesforce Requirement: Salesforce have 2FA on their platform, so it is good practice to start getting use to it early.

If 2FA feels cumbersome, we do offer Single Sign-On (SSO) options with Google, LinkedIn, Yahoo, and Microsoft. As long as the email associated with one of these services matches your FoF account, you can use these to log in without the need for separate 2FA steps.

We understand that adjusting to 2FA might be an extra step, but it is designed with your security in mind.

If you require assistance with your 2FA, please get in touch to lodge a Service Request with our Customer Support Team.
