Role Purpose
Support deployment of advanced production planning and detailed scheduling capabilities using SAP APO PP/DS (or S/4 embedded PP/DS), ensuring alignment between global planning templates and local manufacturing constraints.
This role focuses on rolling out and stabilizing planning solutions, not redesigning the planning model.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fit/gap analysis between global PP/DS planning templates and local production environments
- Support configuration and validation of:
- Heuristics
- Optimization profiles
- Finite capacity planning
- Production scheduling rules
- Support integration with SAP PP, MRP, and manufacturing execution systems
- Validate planning master data (resources, PDS, production versions)
- Execute and document integration and user acceptance tests
- Support cutover and post go-live hypercare
- Train planners and production stakeholders
- Act as functional interface between planning teams, manufacturing, and IT
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on SAP APO PP/DS or S/4HANA PP/DS experience
- Detailed understanding of finite scheduling and capacity planning
- Experience with planning master data and PDS models
- Integration knowledge with SAP PP and MES
Manufacturing & Planning Knowledge
- Deep understanding of production planning and scheduling
- Experience in complex, multi-site manufacturing environments
- Ability to enforce global planning standards while accommodating local constraints
