Position Requirements

In this role, you will work with enterprise-scale mainframe environments, focusing on automation solutions within z/OS infrastructure. You will design and support automation workflows, ensuring system stability, resiliency, and seamless operations across multi-site environments. Your work will directly contribute to reliable, high-availability systems supporting critical business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using Broadcom OPS/MVS and System State Manager

• Write and optimize REXX scripts for automation, monitoring, and operational processes

• Configure and support automation failover in multi-site environments, ensuring seamless process continuity

• Collaborate with infrastructure and mainframe teams to design and implement automation solutions

• Gather functional requirements and translate them into scalable automation designs

• Troubleshoot production issues, including batch processing failures and system incidents

• Analyze system behavior, identify gaps, and drive improvements in reliability and automation

• Maintain change control discipline, including code reviews and version control using Git

• Create and maintain documentation, including runbooks and operational procedures

• Support knowledge sharing and team enablement through documentation and training

Requirements

• Solid experience working with mainframe / IBM Z environments in enterprise settings

• Strong knowledge of z/OS operating system and core automation concepts

• Hands-on experience with Broadcom OPS/MVS and System State Manager or similar automation tools

• Advanced expertise in REXX scripting for automation and troubleshooting

• Practical knowledge of COBOL, CICS, DB2 or IMS, and JCL within mainframe ecosystems

• Experience supporting production environments, including batch processing, incident handling, and system reliability

• Experience collaborating with or supporting mainframe engineering teams in complex environments

• Ability to analyze workflows, identify gaps, and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements

• Experience configuring and supporting high-availability or multi-site (DR/active-active) environments

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and code review practices

• Strong communication skills for collaboration with distributed technical teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree is a plus)

• English proficiency for technical communication and documentation
