Role Overview
This is a senior-level role requiring hands-on development expertise and the ability to lead technical decisions within guidelines. This individual will support enterprise-wide ServiceNow initiatives focused on forms, workflows, and AppEngine development. The role includes designing, building, and governing custom solutions, as well as working with data across systems using SQL. This person will apply technical expertise and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable outcomes. This individual will help drive continuous improvement and innovation. This role requires strong data-handling capabilities, including writing and optimizing SQL queries and working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Microsoft SQL.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop custom applications using AppEngine Studio, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub.
* Design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with ServiceNow and internal best practices.
* Mentor junior and mid-level developers through technical guidance and code reviews.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions.
* Ensure platform governance, reusability, and compliance with internal architectural standards.
* Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs.
* Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and integrations.
* Work with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake and Microsoft SQL Server) to extract, transform, and validate data.
* Troubleshoot data-related issues across ServiceNow and integrated systems.
* Troubleshoot bugs, fix defects, and support users of custom applications.
* Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, security, and adherence to standards.
* Maintain detailed documentation for application design and development processes.
* Create Knowledge Articles and Wiki pages.
* Develop enhancements and new features for existing forms and applications.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
* Collaborate with platform administrators to optimize performance and scalability.
* Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates and recommend adoption strategies.
* Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
Required Skills
* Fluency in English.
* Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting components.
* Strong experience with AppEngine, Flow Designer, Script Includes, Business Rules, ACLs, Filtering, and UI Policies.
* Strong hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, and integration use cases.
* Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake and Microsoft SQL Server.
* Understanding of data modeling, data structures, and query optimization.
* Understanding of HRSD, S2P, and other ServiceNow plugins and modules.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, Automated Test Framework (ATF), and GitHub.
* Experience with API integrations and data exchange between platforms.
* Experience with Service Portal development and UI customization.
* Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and limitations.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes in a remote environment.
