ERP S/4HANA

Building real S/4HANA confidence before go-live

17 June 2026

Most people who work inside SAP only ever see one corner of it. A buyer enters orders. A planner checks inventory. A finance lead watches the numbers land at month-end. Each of them knows their own screen well and very little about what happens on the other side of the process they’re plugged into.

There’s a simulation that K2 University uses to widen that view for a few hours at a time. ERPsim runs on a live SAP S/4HANA system rather than a simplified copy of one, and it puts every participant in a super-user seat: full access to the Fiori dashboard, every functional role, every report, across a virtual company they’re now responsible for running. A buyer can see how their pricing call affects finance. A planner can see a purchasing decision ripple into a process they’d never normally touch.

Facilitator-led sessions yield maximum benefits

K2 University’s facilitator-led ERPsim sessions help participants maximize the value of enablement programs. A facilitator runs the session, in person, virtually, or both, and sets teams of human players against each other, sometimes with an AI team added for good measure. It scales from a handful of people to large events with several hundred participants, split across dozens of teams, and it covers a wide set of scenarios, including manufacturing, logistics, public sector operations, and defense and security. A facilitator also runs a debrief at the end, which is often where the real conversation about next steps for the organization happens.

A track record across more than 60 countries

Globally, ERPsim has run over 4,000 sessions in 65 countries, with more than 80,000 participants. SAP’s own teams have used it in presales conversations to let prospects feel the platform rather than just watch a demo, and organizations running global S/4HANA rollouts have used it to get leadership genuinely on board before the technical work even starts.

Where it fits into a K2 University SAP enablement program

None of this replaces instructor-led S/4HANA training, SAP Learning Hub content, or the organizational change management work that holds a rollout together. K2 University brings ERPsim in alongside those, at specific points where hands-on practice earns its place: ahead of go-live, so a team can make mistakes in a sandbox instead of in production; during onboarding, when someone new needs a faster feel for the system than a manual will give them; in workshops with executives or other stakeholders, who tend to get more out of fifteen minutes inside a simulation than an hour of slides; and after go-live, while new habits are still forming.=

Some SAP customers use it at one point in a program. Others bring it back at several. Either way, K2 University can deploy ERPsim flexibly to meet the needs of each SAP enablement engagement.

If part of your S/4HANA program would benefit from this kind of hands-on practice, before, during, or after go-live, get in touch or look at our SAP enablement solutions to see how it fits alongside everything else we do.

Common questions about ERPsim for S/4HANA

What is ERPsim?

A gamified business simulation that runs inside a live SAP S/4HANA environment. Participants run a virtual company, making real pricing, purchasing, and inventory decisions, and see the results play out through an actual Fiori dashboard rather than a simplified mock-up.

Do you need SAP experience to take part?

No. The distribution and sustainability scenario in particular is designed for people who haven’t used an ERP system before. Facilitator-Led sessions can be tailored to a group’s existing familiarity with SAP.

Does it run on real SAP S/4HANA, or a simplified version of it?

It runs on a live S/4HANA system with a fully functional Fiori interface. The decisions and data participants work with come from the same kind of environment they’ll use once a rollout goes live.

Is ERPsim part of K2 University's standard SAP enablement?

It’s an optional addition, not a substitute for instructor-led or hybrid training or SAP Learning Hub content. K2 University incorporates it into our programs at specific points, such as onboarding, go-live, or stakeholder workshops, rather than including it by default.

How many people can take part in each session?

Facilitator-led sessions can range from small groups to large events with up to 234 participants across 26 competing teams.

Can it replace classroom-based SAP training?

No. It’s built to test and reinforce decisions people have already learned to make, not to teach the system from the ground up.
