Job description:

General BA Expectations

Ensure requirements are clearly documented and kept current in Confluence and/or user stories, so the team has a shared, reliable reference throughout discovery and delivery.

When decisions or clarifications occur verbally or through chat, summarize the outcome in the appropriate requirement or user story to maintain visibility and alignment.

 Be curious and ask questions that demonstrate clear thought process

 Understand and own the end-to-end business process and workflows for all personas

 Understand the Salesforce user experience and connect it back to business outcomes

 Leverage SQL-based languages (JQL, SOQL) to support data analysis, preparation, and

testing – Optional

Stakeholder Partnership and Communication

Ownership

The BA owns the day-to-day relationship with business stakeholders for the teams they support.

This includes actively managing communication through established Teams channels and other

agreed communication paths. When stakeholders log bugs, surface new requests, or ask questions

about processes, the BA is accountable for managing the conversation and ensuring timely,

thoughtful responses.

Responsibilities include:

 Monitoring and actively participating in Teams channels used by supported business groups

 Acknowledging bugs, enhancement requests, and questions in a timely manner

 Clarifying context, impact, and urgency with stakeholders

 Guiding stakeholders through the appropriate intake, prioritization, and delivery process

 Coordinating with the delivery team to drive responses and resolution

 Providing regular status updates, even when immediate resolution is not available

 Keeping direct manager/team up to date when conversations are being held in private

Teams chats/channels

o 1:1 Teams chats happen often, provide updates somewhere (i.e., related Jira ticket)

The BA acts as a trusted partner and advocate for the business and is responsible for ensuring

stakeholders feel supported, informed, and confident that their needs are actively managed

throughout discovery, delivery, and post-implementation.

Discovery and Requirement Ownership

Initial Discovery and Requirement Gathering

 Collaborate with business stakeholders and internal technology partners to understand

business context, goals, and pain points

 Conduct interviews and workshops and review existing documentation and process maps to

identify gaps and opportunities

 Define scope and document requirements in the Business Requirement Document (BRD) in

Confluence

Business Requirements Document (Brd) Ownership and Signoff

 Document functional and non-functional requirements clearly and completely

 Prioritize requirements with the business based on value, feasibility, and urgency using the

MOSCOW method

 Review the finalized BRD with stakeholders and internal technology partners

 Own and obtain formal signoff from business stakeholders

 Post signoff, translate approved requirements and solution context into detailed user stories

for the development team

Delivery Support and Ongoing Alignment

 Serve as the primary point of contact for requirement-related questions during delivery

 Clarify intent and context for the development team as needed

 Ensure business decisions, scope changes, and tradeoffs are clearly communicated and

documented

 Maintain alignment between business expectations and delivered functionality

Delivery Ceremonies and BA Responsibilities

The BA is expected to actively participate in and support all relevant delivery ceremonies to ensure

alignment between business needs, delivery execution, and stakeholder expectations.

Intake and Request Triage

 Serve as the first point of engagement for new bugs, enhancement requests, and process

questions raised through Teams channels or agreed intake paths

 Clarify problem statements, business impact, urgency, and success criteria with stakeholders

 Determine appropriate next steps, including backlog entry, discovery, or follow-up discussion

 Set clear expectations with stakeholders on process, prioritization, and timing

Backlog Refinement and Grooming

 Ensure user stories are clearly written, well-scoped, and aligned to approved requirements

 Provide business context and clarify intent for the delivery team

 Confirm acceptance criteria are complete and testable

 Identify dependencies, risks, and open questions requiring business input

 Ensure stories are ready for prioritization and planning

Sprint Planning

 Support prioritization discussions by reinforcing business value, urgency, and tradeoffs

 Clarify scope and intent of stories being pulled into the sprint

 Confirm stakeholder alignment on sprint goals when applicable

Sprint Execution and Ongoing Delivery

 Act as the primary point of contact for requirement-related questions during the sprint

 Clarify intent, edge cases, and business rules as questions arise

 Communicate scope changes, decisions, and impacts to stakeholders in a timely manner

 Ensure business stakeholders are aware of progress and any emerging risks

Demos and Reviews

 Ensure delivered functionality is clearly mapped back to business requirements and

expectations

 Support walkthroughs by providing business context and intended outcomes

 Capture stakeholder feedback, questions, and follow-up items

 Drive clarity on acceptance, refinements, or next steps

Retrospectives and Continuous Improvement

 Participate in retrospectives with a focus on improving discovery, communication, and

delivery effectiveness

 Surface recurring stakeholder pain points or process gaps

 Contribute actionable improvement ideas related to BA practices and stakeholder

engagement

QA/Testing

 Develop and execute functional test plans with business subject matter experts

 Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to transfer knowledge and support development

quality testing.

 Develop user acceptance test (UAT) plans and tools, and manage the UAT process

 Develop business facing UAT scripts based on Jira tickets, Confluence

 Ensure test results are identified, documented, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely

manner

 Communicate technical and process changes to development team

Meetings, Notes, and Communication Hygiene

Call and Meeting Preparation

 Prepare and maintain meeting pages, cloning from prior sessions when applicable to retain

action items

 Update agendas and clearly identify discussion topics and decisions needed

During Meetings

 Take accurate notes during meetings to capture context, decisions, and open questions

 Do not rely solely on AI-generated summaries without reconciliation

Post-Meeting and Async Updates

 Clean up AI summaries and reconcile them with personal notes

 Clearly document decisions, action items, owners, and follow-ups

 Share timely updates back to stakeholders through Teams or agreed channels

 Ensure open questions and action items are tracked through to resolution

Education / Experience, Preferred Certifications,

Core Skills and Attribute Requirements

Education / Experience

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Agile delivery professional in enterprise

environments

 Proven experience supporting enterprise or portfoliolevel Agile programs, not just single

teams

 Experience working alongside Developers. Business Stakeholders, Program Managers and

PMOs in a structured delivery model

 Familiarity with Salesforce delivery, systems integration, or largescale business

transformation initiatives

 Strong facilitation, communication, and conflictresolution skills

 Ability to influence without authority / operate effectively in a highly matrixed organization

 Experience working in scaled Agile environments

Preferred Certifications

 Agile or Lean certifications supporting enterprise delivery models
